My feedback about the 2nd proposal of BenBois.
- I like icons for Writer, Draw, Impress
- I a big fan of the icon for Impress
- I don't like the icon for Calc.
- I have no opinion for the "open document" icon.
- There is a lack of consistency between icons for "writer / draw" and icons for "Impress/Calc".
- The two first ones have perspectives, not the others.
- The icons for writer, draw, and impress are all based on the following concept : a document with a tool. It's not the case for Calc.
So for me :
- Icons for write and draw are ok.
- Icon for open will be ok also I think is everyone validate it
- Icon for impress should have the same perspective as Writer and Draw. The concept should be the same.
- Icon for calc should have the same perspective as Writer and Draw. And we have to find another metaphor to keep the consistency

My feedback about the 3rd proposal of BenBois.
- Globaly remarks are the same as the previous ones
- We have to choose :
- all icons with perspectives or not (I prefer perspective)
- all icons should respect the paradigm : a doc with a tool or each icon have is own concept (the last is an error for me)
- I like the butterfly for impress
Whatever the icons are really beautifull and design with many details and perfection. But I think that we have to make icons that are consistents and logic.

My feedback about the "Pre Final" proposal of BenBois.
"Pre Final" you say ? I have many comments about it !!!
To be short :
- The prefinal proposal is consistant : good point
- The prefinal respect colors guidelines : good point again
- For the prefinal proposal there is a big visual issue. If you take icons for Draw and Impress, the height of documents the perspectives seem lower than the one for Writer and Calc. It's a technical problem, it's just a visual effect coming from the colors I think
- For Impress I prefer the 4rd proposal for the content of the document. It's more explicit.
- I would prefer to have a different type of drawing for each document in the icons.
BenBois : If it's not clear don't hesitate to contact me by IRC or email.

For me the icons look perfect, and so far, there is no rule saying eveything must be exactly aligned, and for me, the size and the perspective of all documents are the same (??)
From my side, I'd propose to use the pre-final set, and wait for comments, and suggestions.
btw: just have a look at Safari prefs, and you'll see something buggy ;-)

- The design of the icons is perfect. I just trying to give them a consistency and to be explicit as much as possible
- There is no rule saying eveything must be exactly aligned : i'm agree and there is no problem with that
- The size and the perspective of all documents are the same YES, BUT there is an "optical effect" : the
thickness of the doc for Writer seem biger that the thickness of impress document. Don't know if everyone can understand what I mean
- I can also add another point of non-consistency : Writer and Impress use abstracts concepts (draft writing and draft list) for the content of the documents, but we have concrets concepts for Calc and Draw (a house with perfect lines, and grid with colors and numbers)
Yes I know I'm very difficult and punctilious. I'm aware that generate more work for BenBois and delay the final icons set.
But I have we really have to take care about our designs in OOo4Kids because with targed children. Of course we can choose to use the "Pre Final" icons, and it will good. But it can be better if we take the opportunity to do it.
Ben Bois : what's your point of view ?

The best is ennemy of good, and I'd suggest to use the current pre-final for a while, and continue to seek. My idea is to use those one at RMLL, and wait for comments. This is anyway better every time, and helps to progress for the public version.
Other topic : FYI, I had a completely out of style other idea. (please forget the colors, keep only the sense). Was thought discussing with Ben on IRC.

First: the icons look good on Open dialog. Some minimalistic icons by FlorenceD and BenBois are to me quite nice too. But now it goes another artistic direction ... For Impress I must say that basic thing in it is change of slides and none of icons show this feature. Here is place for animation "folding next page" or something like that?
Other name of modules are also verb in English but not Writer. In this page there is used text "Write" not "Writer". Need to change the name of the word prosessor?
