Proposal #1

The color selector in OpenOffice 3.0 is not adapted for children.

Specifications

The new color selector for OOo4Kids should:

  • have a reduced number of colors. The color selector of OpenOffice propose 128 colors, OOo4Kids should propose 32 or 64 colors.
  • the color sheme should be adapted to children.

To do

  • [ DONE ] find where is defined the list of colors.
  • [ DONE ] modify the number of lines x columns in the color palette
  • [ DONE ] modify the size of the colored rectangles ( the right values still need to be defined )
  • implement the grey values on bottom (difficult, because add rectangles under squares needs a deep look in the implementation)
  • create a new standard.soc color table (easy, just needs to be done). Note: standard.soc is located in extras/source/palettes (like other palettes) in the source code.
  • test, debug

Current work in progress (Tiger look, first test)

Ideas

  • Create a new color set
  • put white / grey light grey and black on bottom, instead of 2 large colors, would simplify a lot the task
